iPhone 4 Jailbreaking

Steve iPhones and Apple may be running into deep trouble with outside intruders. Now that jail breaking the iPhone is legal, anyone can use an iPhone, on any phone with any application. This is good and bad news.

The Good News first

The good news is that iPhone developers won't have to be limited to getting into the Apple Store. For a long time Apple has chosen who to let in and who to deny to their store. With the restrictions off, you'll see a lot of Jail Broken Stores opening up for developers to submit there applications to, to get downloaded and used. I expect to see in the next few years, a dominant store comparable to the Apple Store that everyone will use but it will have all applications, no restrictions to it. When there is a demand for a certain object, someone will always provide it.

Another high side to this is that no longer will AT&T have the monopoly of the iPhone. For a long time, their contract has restricted users not on their network to find another phone. Furthermore, it's been said that JailBreakMe, a site focused on iPhone 4 Jail Breaking, has came up with an exploit within the Safari Browser that allows PDF's to be downloaded, specifically the code that jailbreaks the iPhone and other Apple Products.

One thing that people forget to see light of, is that even though Apple has lost a legal battle, you still need to buy an apple product in order to have a jail broken item.

The Bad News

The downsides of Jail Breaking for now will probably always be safety, functionality, and usuability. You'll always have to get development from "hackers" trying to adapt to the latest iPhone 4 OS.

This will make Apples security on their product a lot more difficult. If you jailbreak your iPhone, you automatically lose your warranty on your iPhone. Furthermore, Jailbreaking is more for the technically inclined user, reaching to those who only have the confidence, or guts to risk their $200 iPhone for the sake of freedom. There is always the danger of downloading on the go. You could download a virus or spyware that bricks your iPhone or steals sensitive passwords and data. One mistake and jailbreaking your iPhone can become one of the worst ideas ever.

Adobe will probably take part in the Jail breaking of the phone ever since Apple has denied Flash programs on the iPhone. Now that it's legal, surely, Adobe will want to get them back. The war continues between Apple and Adobe. It'll be interesting to see what happens
